We start with a remake before making room for new titles. The first titles in the Tony Hawk franchise, which revolutionized skateboarding games (and actually became the only favorites). After several titles and the oblivion of the franchise, it makes a perfect return with the same updated idea, with perfect graphics, unique customization, the perfect soundtrack and all the fun taking it to the point of perfection. Never has a classic been so respected on its way to a remake.

Monster Hunter Rise

Console: Nintendo Switch

For years, Monster Hunter has had an unheard of massive following, due to its unique gameplay and concept, which is honestly addictive. Monster Hunter Rise was released for the Nintendo Switch and naturally it is the high point of the franchise so far, improving quite a bit on the gameplay, making it smoother, without alienating new audiences, finding new addicts. Its mix between RPG , adventure and exploration, and the brilliant online multiplayer mode (which has also been perfected), make it an immediate classic. The only flaw is the graphics on the Switch, but it will come later on other platforms.

It Takes Two

Console: Xbox Series X

Developed by Hazelight Studios that generated quite a few positive reviews like A Way Out, having a focus on cooperative multiplayer styles, they return with It Takes Two, a game that, as its title suggests, has to be played with two people. It’s a platformer, with multiple mechanics that general video game fans will find familiar, and the two players have to work as a team mixing different skills to find their way. This, added to beautiful graphics that are used more on recent consoles.

Resident Evil Village

Console: PS5, PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia

Resident Evil: Village was one of the most commented games of the year, mainly because of the Tall Woman, from which quite a few memes arose, but also for being another worthy installment to the franchise, which has found a new path since the previous release, which was a complete return to the roots of survival horror. In this sequel, more action elements are integrated which makes it less slow than its predecessor, in addition to having an excellent setting and horror elements that fit perfectly with the franchise. The graphics, of course, were the most acclaimed on the next generation consoles.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Console : PS5

Chicory: A Colorful Tale

Console: PC

This is an indie game that has unexpectedly become a top-rated game on Metacritic and got acclaim from the audience as well. It was created by Greg Lobanov and features a simple black and white world populated by anthropomorphic animals, with the protagonist being a dog. The gameplay is all about using a brush and using colors to solve some puzzles and puzzles, but what has really been acclaimed has been the story, which is geared towards artists who have a hard time accepting their art or feeling comfortable with it. The music and atmosphere that the game presents is truly unique.
