OPPO Pad Air: a comfortable and light mid-range tablet with a battery that lasts all day

The Asian brand OPPO announced earlier this month the arrival of its first tablet in the market: the OPPO Pad Air . This mid-range device can be purchased in Spain and stands out for its ColorOS software and its lightweight design that is comfortable to take anywhere.

There are two models of the OPPO Pad Air, both in gray:

The OPPO Pad Air works with Android 12 , which allows users to use it as an alternative to mobile phones, a very interesting possibility, especially if you want to see multimedia content in a big way, but without turning on your computer or television.

In addition, it has a resolution that is certified by TÜV Rheinland , which ensures that it has low blue light visual protection. This reduces eye fatigue to watch movies, series, YouTube videos and even to read a book or document in detail.

Dimensions and design

One of the main features of the tablet and that OPPO boasts on its official website is its design. They classify it as “fine, light and comfortable” , something that 20BITS has been able to verify. Its gray design has ideal dimensions and weight for transport. Its gray design has ideal dimensions and weight for transport. Its screen has 2K HD quality and is 10.36 inches (16:10), with a thickness of 6.74 mm and weighing less than half a kilo (440 grams to be exact). These references make it an ideal tablet to transport without implying a very large increase in the weight and space of the backpack.

The aluminum casing has a matte gray finish except for a raised, metallic gray horizontal band. With this, the OPPO Air Pad is not only comfortable, slim and light, but also elegant in design.

The developers of the Air Pad have made it have a 7100 mAh battery, which is equivalent to 12 hours of continuous movies or up to 15 hours of video calls. This makes it possible for users to move with it without fear of its battery running out throughout the day.

In addition, it comes with a charger in the box (something that not all tech manufacturers can boast of) and has 18W fast charging via USB-PD.

Media quality

The screen of the Chinese brand device has a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 px, 60 Hz and 360 nits. Not bad if we take into account its price. The colours, brightness and image quality is consistent with a mid-range tablet and the color temperature and visual comfort can be customized from the device settings. The display features low blue light technology to protect your eyes. The display features low blue light technology to protect eyesight.OPPO

From the sound, it stands out for four speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, which offer great surround audio quality. These are located on the sides of the tablet and, in addition, they have 8 sound profiles from which the user can choose, such as game, music, work or smart mode.

The OPPO Pad Air has ColorOS for Pad, so it has smart touch controls. Some of them are the possibility of splitting the screen with two fingers, placing a floating window with four fingers or a smart sidebar.

It also allows you to transfer files from an OPPO mobile to the tablet easily. In this way, users will be able to photograph with the best quality camera on the mobile and edit it on a larger screen such as a tablet before uploading it to social networks or a web page.

Take photos with the tablet

The device has two cameras: an 8-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera, and a 6-megapixel f.2.2 front camera. Although better results can be obtained with current smartphones, it should be noted that the OPPO Pad Air has decent cameras for those who want to use them for video calls or to upload an Instagram Story without using the smartphone.

Although it does not have a fingerprint sensor, the device has biometric technology, since it allows unlocking through face identification. This is possible thanks to the front camera and it works correctly.

  • THE BEST: a lot of autonomy and a comfortable design. THE WORST: it does not stand out for its performance.
